Taking some time off, and a note on the story

After last week's "Blugh" post, I decided to take a three-day weekend, meaning I took today off. Going to relax and do nothing.

My wife re-read Balfrith's story for me over the past couple of weeks. She found a few weaknesses, which was to be expected, but overall she enjoyed the story. I, too, started re-reading it during some of my business trips. I'm about half way through the story, and while I do enjoy it, I will admit it's not a page-turner that I can't put down.

There's nothing wrong with that, of course. A book doesn't need to be a page turner to be classified as "good". That said, I agree with my wife that there are some areas that could still use improvement. And this is after about six rounds of revisions. Some days I think the work on this story will never end.

Oh well, I won't be working on it today, or even this week. But soon.

Blugh

I've worked every weekend for the last three weeks. So very tired. Ready for a vacation.
